Barry Leonard Eanes, 64, of Williamsburg passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021. He was born on August 29, 1956, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to Leonard and Shelby.
Barry proudly served in the United States Army, during which time he met Rhonda and the two were married in 1985.
Throughout his life it was often said that Barry never met a stranger and was always available to help someone in need. He was passionate about helping and serving others and this was reflected through the organizations that he was part of. He cofounded the Williamsburg Chapter of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 4548 and was currently serving as President. He was also an active member of VFW Post 8046. He served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader in Patrick County, and a past President of the Patrick Springs Ruritan Club. He was a member of Stella Christian Church and Fort Trial Christian Church.
Barry is survived by his wife, Rhonda Eanes, of the home; his daughter and her husband, Ryan and Amanda Lewis of Newport, NC; his son, Matthew Eanes of Radford, VA; his sister and her husband, Mike and Karen Mueller of DeLand, FL; and granddaughter, Leila Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Eanes, Shelby Fileger and Curtis Dudley; and his son, Christopher Eanes.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 4548, at 113 Palace Lane, Suite N, Williamsburg, VA 23185. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Axton, Virginia.
