Mr. Marvin Ray Belcher

Mr. Marvin Ray Belcher, age 82 of Meadows of Dan, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg after a brief illness.  He was born in Patrick County on April 17, 1939 to the late William Ray Belcher and Myrtle Gay Hall Belcher.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Belcher was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Kay Belcher; a brother, Howard Belcher; a sister, Marie Brannon; and a brother-in-law, Larry Brannon. He was long time member of Mountain View United Methodist Church. He was the owner/operator of Marvin Belcher Bulldozing. Marvin will be remembered for being a devoted husband, loving father, and caring grandfather.

Mr. Belcher is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elva Pendleton Belcher of the home; three children, Jimmy David Belcher, Danny Ray Belcher. and Deborah Belcher Quesinberry, all of Meadows of Dan; four grandsons and wives, Stephen and Lisa Roop Belcher, Dustin and Angel Walton Belcher, Darren and Suzanne Plasters Belcher, and James Quesinberry; one granddaughter and husband, Sarah Quesinberry and Patrick Matheny; eight great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Arleene and Robert Wood and a sister-in-law, Jean Belcher, all of Meadows of Dan; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors Terry Martin, Marcus Wood and Jeff Dalton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mountain View United Methodist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  If desired, memorials may be made to the Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Michelle Turman, 441 Busted Rock Road, Meadows of Dan, Virginia 24120.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
