Baseball team scores two wins against Gretna

The Varsity Cougar Baseball Team travelled to Greta Monday, March 14, defeating the Hawks 4-1. Tucker Swails picked up the win on the mound going five innings, allowing no runs, no hits, walking none, and striking out 12.

Stuart Callahan picked up the two-inning save in relief allowing one run on one hit, walking one and striking out three.

The Cougars were led at the plate by Callahan, who picked up two hits, and Jai Penn, Cam Nowlin, Nash Thompson and Gilbert Hubbard, who picked up one hit each.

On March 18, the Cougars hosted Gretna, and picked up 5-0 win.

Penn was credited with the win on the mound, pitching four innings and allowing no hits and no runs. Nowlin pitched one inning, also allowing no runs and no hits.

Callahan went one inning allowing no runs and one hit.

Swails finished up the game by pitching one inning, allowing no runs, no hits, and striking out two.

The Cougar pitchers combined for a 1 hit, 0 walk shutout.

The Cougars were led at the plate by Penn, who went 1-3 with two RBIs.

Callahan and Jackson Horton were both 1-3, with one RBI each.
