Mr. Bernice Clint Martin, age 77 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Sovah Health of Martinsville.  He was born in Patrick County on June 19, 1942 to the late William Clyde Martin and Clemmie Elizabeth Cruise Martin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Martin.  Mr. Martin had served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Colonial Beach Masonic Lodge and the Warsaw-Bauman Masonic Lodge #332.  He enjoyed the outdoors whether it be hunting, fishing, or working with his horses and cattle.  He was well respected for his carpentry skills and could build just about anything.  As a husband, father, grandfather, and friend he was kind, considerate and respectful.  He cared very deeply for his family and friends.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Martha Inez Hylton Martin of the home; five children, Carl Martin and wife, Mary Anne of Winchester, Renee Jenkins and husband, Johnny of King George, Marie Davis and husband, Mike, Guy Wood and wife, Wanda, Ronnie Hylton all of Woolwine; nine grandchildren, Megan Brown and husband, Chris, William Martin, Matthew Martin, Anna Martin, Stephen Jenkins, Thomas Jenkins, Joey Hylton, Nicole Hylton, Isaac Wood; one great grandchild, Kalix Smith; a sister-in-law, Linda Martin; and two nieces, Jessica Martin and Marci Hayward.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Conner’s View Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Eddie Bunn and Guy Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Military rites will be provided by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.  Masonic rites will be provided by Mountain Home Lodge #263.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Conner’s View Primitive Baptist Church c/o Barry Fain, 459 Woodland Dr, Stuart, VA 24171 or to the Patrick County Community Food Bank, P.O.
