Betty Juiet Lawson, 85, left this earthly life Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Woltz Hospice Home, Dobson, N.C.

A graveside service will be held at 11a.m., Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Lawson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.

She was born in Stokes County on January 27, 1937, to the late Frank Clyde Lawson and Virginia Sheppard Lawson. Betty was a graduate of Lawsonville High School and was retired from Wake Forest University Dental Clinic. Betty was a faithful member of Peters Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Dean Lawson.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Clyde Lawson; son, Greg Lawson (Lisa); daughter Teresa Cothran (John); sister Linda Lawson; three grandchildren, Jamie Rivera (Patrick), Eli Cothran (Maddie) and Henley Cothran; and a great-grandson, Cohen Rivera.

Memorials may be made to Peters Creek Baptist Church, 6561 NC 8 Hwy N, Lawsonville, N.C. 27022, or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.

Colonial Funeral Home in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
