Mr. Billy Gene Leath, Sr. age 76 of Stuart, Virginia passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. He was born in Galax, Virginia on November 3, 1948, to the late Raymond Willard Leath and Stella Easter Leath. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Jane Leath; two brothers, Raymond Dale Leath, and Michael Ray Leath; and the mother of his children, Shirley Mae Vipperman Leath.  Billy enjoyed operating heavy equipment, motorcycles, fishing, and shooting guns. He was a likeable person who made friends easily with his good humor and was known for picking and carrying on. The joy of his life was his family; he looked forward to spending time with each of them and his eyes lit up when his grandchildren called him Papa.

Mr. Leath is survived by four children, Billy Gene Leath, Jr (Donna), Michael Leath (Carol), Tina Young (Eric), and Rhonda Barrett; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Barbara, Carolyn, Pat, Tamma, and Wade; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Mr. Leath will be private with his son, Pastor Michael Leath officiating. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart has been entrusted with the services and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservcies.com.
