Bonnie Rogers Ayers, age 76, of Claudville, died Monday, April 18, 2016, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart.
She was born September 11, 1939, in Claudville to the late Claude and Annie Anderson Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Millard Ayers; a son, Roger Ayers, and an infant daughter; brother, Richard Rogers; and brother-in-law, Wallace Smith.
She was a retired CNA.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Teddy Martin of South Carolina and Debbie and Dale Robertson of Stuart; son, Wade “Chuck” Ayers of Mount Airy, N.C.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Claudia Smith and Gaynell Shaw, both of Mount Airy; brothers, Bob Rogers and Jim Rogers, both of Mount Airy; sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. at Howell Funeral Chapel of Mount Airy. Burial will follow in the Hunters Chapel Cemetery, Ararat.
The family will receive friends today from noon until time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hunters Chapel Cemetery, C/O Annie B. Tolbert, P.O. Box 172, Ararat, VA 24053.
