Mary Velma Culler Bishop, age 93, of Ararat, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Laurel Meadows Nursing Home.
She was born in Patrick County on August 20, 1922, and was a daughter of the late Emmett F. and Annie Maude Poore Culler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Franklin Bishop; sisters, Ruth Smith, Leone King, Grace Valentine, Verona Quesinberry, and Jesse Reynolds; and brothers, Ed Culler, Lester Culler, Carl Culler, Clyde Culler and Russell Culler.
She was such a loving person, not only to her family, but also to anyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends.
Surviving are daughters, Lois Arlene Pedigo and Frances Burkhart; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Verlie Bishop and Leonard and Barbara Ann Bishop; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Christine Culler; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Monte Mitchell. Burial was in the Culler Family cemetery.
