Local residents, Dillon Bryant, of Woolwine, and Dustin Wagner, of Patrick Springs, are on the Patrick Henry Community College’s bass fishing team. They traveled to TN the week of May 8 to compete in the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series Eastern Tour event.

The three day tournament featured 251 collegiate teams from across the country. Bryant and Wagner brought in a total of 12 fish that weighted 30 pounds and 3 ounces, which landed them in the top 15 percent and also advances them to the national level.

They will compete in the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Tournament at Lake Tenkiller in Tahlequah, Okla., in July.

Bryant is enrolled in the criminal justice program at Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC). He is the son of Jason and Monica Bryant.

Wagner recently completed his associates degree in Industrial Technology from Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC). He plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology. He is the son of Tommy and Pamela Wagner.
