“February is the border between winter and spring.” – Teri Guillemets, Years

I feel that this year, February is the border between winter and summer. So many days above the average temperature and so many plants budding out already. Being the shortest month, I always feel that February flies by, and I think the weather feels the same way.

February was the month of meetings for the chamber. We had meetings for the downtown revitalization planning grant for the town, the region-wide agritourism meetings in Martinsville with their marketing teams, LOVE sign unveiling at Willis Gap Community Center, Stuart Farmers’ Market vendor meeting, all on top of our monthly chamber and tourism meetings.

Several days this month were taken up by the Spring Patrick County Magazine. We are in the final stages of editing, and by publication of this article, the magazine will be at the printers. We cannot wait to share it with everyone. Please support the businesses that advertise in the magazine. Without them, the magazine would not be possible.

March will be busy as we continue to gear up for late spring and summer events and programs. The Tourism Summit will be on March 27th at Fairy Stone State Park, and we will look forward to many construction projects that had winter announcements move forward. Of course, construction of Lovers Leap will continue and ramp up this spring and summer.

Stop by and visit us in our new location, 410 Patrick Avenue, Suite A (downtown), our website at www.patrickchamber.com, or call us at (276) 694-6012.

New Members:  The Honey Pot on Main, Patrick County Republican Committee, and Longfin Grill.

(Adcock is the executive director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce.)
