Clarence “Buddy” Edward Seigler

Mr. Clarence “Buddy” Edward Seigler, age 90 of Meadows of Dan passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, at his home. He was born in North Carolina, and raised in Greenville, SC, on October 31, 1932, to the late Clyde Edward Seigler and Myrtle Fletcher Seigler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Moe Taylor. Buddy served in the U.S. Navy and graduated from Furman University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He had worked for the Government Accountability Office and his career spanned over 30 years in Fairfax and upon retirement he moved to Meadows of Dan. He loved accounting work and had his own tax preparation business in Meadows of Dan. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and hunting and after retirement tinkering around the homeplace. He was a member of Meadows of Dan Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Vera Barnard Seigler of the home; one daughter, Terry Seigler of Meadows of Dan; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve and Debby Seigler of Barboursville, Billy Seigler of Ruthers Glen, Mike Seigler of Panama City, FL; six grandchildren, Michael Seigler and wife, Colleen, Joshua Seigler and wife, Sara, Taylor Seigler, Justin Seigler, Lincoln Seigler, Matthew Shank and wife, Lindsay; four great grandchildren, Aria and Jaxon Seigler, Isabella and Savannah Shank; and one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Larry Powell of Easley, SC.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church with Pastors Shawn Carter and Michael Shockley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Meadows of Dan Vol. Fire Department, P.O. Box 830, Meadows of Dan, VA 24120 or to the Vesta Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 911, Meadows of Dan, VA 24120. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
