Friday, July 9

The Meadows of Dan Community Center will hold a Community Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost of an indoor table is $10 per table, and an outdoor space costs $10 per space. If you have an outdoor space, you must bring your own table. Ruritans will serve breakfast and lunch. To reserve tables or spaces, call 276-952-6395.

 

Saturday, July 10

Salem United Methodist Church will hold a drive-through Steak Sandwich Dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A rib-eye steak sandwich, chips, drink, and cake is included for $10.

 

Sunday, July 11

The J.P. & Tecoa Gilbert Williams Family Reunion will be held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hughes Picnic Shelter on Trot Valley Road in Stuart. Family, descendants, and friends are invited to come and bring a cover dish and enjoy family and fellowship.

 

Sunday, July 11- Friday, July 16

 Fort Trail Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School for Class 2 years to 5 years from 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m., Completed Grades K-5 from 6:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., and adults at 7 p.m.

 

Monday, July 12

 The Patrick County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6 p.m. at the Patrick County Administration Building.

 

Monday, July 12-Wednesday, July 14

 

Patrick County High School will hold an Elementary Volleyball Camp from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost of the camp is $30. Contact Heidi Moore via email at Heidi.Moore@patrick.k12.va.us or text 276-340-4242 by July 5 with a T-shirt size for your player to receive during this camp.

 

Tuesday, July 20- Friday, July 23

Grace Baptist Church will hold a Vacation Bible School: Mystery Island from 5:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for ages 4-13. There will be Bible lessons, crafts, snacks, songs, games, and a comedy show every day. Pre-register online at hisgraceforyou.org, or register in person your first night.

 

Wednesday, July 21

The Town of Stuart Council will meet at the Town Office at 7 p.m. in Stuart.

Patrick County Chamber of Commerce will hold a lunch and learn about Canva, a free graphic design platform, at 12 p.m. The workshop is free, but registration is required. Saturday, July 24

Grace Baptist Church will hold a Community Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for all ages. There will be music, a comedy show, games and prizes, inflatable fun, a dunking booth, crafts, balloons, hotdogs, popcorn, sno-cones, and more.

 

Friday, July 30

The Stuart Farmers’ Market will host the Patrick County Master Gardeners during the scheduled market hours at the market in downtown Stuart.

 

Sunday, Aug. 1- Wednesday, Aug. 4

 The Middle Cross Missionary Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for children ages 5 to 15.

 

Friday, August 6

 The Vesta Community Center will hold a Quarter Auction with doors opening at 5 p.m. and games starting at 6 p.m. $5 includes 2 paddles and 1 door prize ticket. Bring travel-size toiletries to donate and get an extra door prize ticket. The event will benefit the Roanoke Ronald McDonald House Charities. Contact Katlyn Boyd at 952-8152 or Connie N. Saturday, August 7

 Primland, Auberge Resorts Collection will hold a Blue Ridge Wilderness & Survival Hike Experience from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Coffee Break Café will have live music every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. You can bring an instrument and join in, or just come and listen.

The Patrick County Recreation Department is taking registration for youth soccer from now through July 30. Only elementary students ages 3-14 are eligible. Call the Recreation Department at 276-694-3917 to sign-up.
