Tuesday, Oct. 11 – Tuesday, Nov. 1

The Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) Fab Lab in Stuart and the Dalton Idea Center will hold an Introduction to 3D printing class from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The cost is $104 per person. Pre-registration is required by going to ph.augusoft.net or calling (276) 656-5461.                                                                                                                                          

 

Wednesday, Oct. 12

The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.

 

Saturday, Oct. 15

The 2nd annual Break Cancer Fundraiser Cruise In for Shavonda Redd Teague will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2 Ball Park Road in Patrick Springs. There will be local vendors, raffle tickets, and more. 

 

Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Country Breakfast from 6:30-10 a.m. Dine in prices are $8 for an adult plate and $4 for a child plate. All to go plates are $8 each. Call in orders – (276) 930-2113. 

 

Sunday, Oct. 16

The 55th annual Meadows of Dan Pancake Day Fundraiser will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Meadows of Dan Community Building. 

 

Thursday, Oct. 20

The Patrick County Republican Committee will meet at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Virginia Motorsports Museum. Members and guests are welcome.

 

The Carroll County Genealogy Club will meet at 6 p.m. on the left side of the Historic Old Courthouse on Mainstreet in Hillsville.

 

Friday, Oct. 21

The Woolwine United Methodist Church Food Truck will be at Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.

 

Saturday, Oct. 22

The Ararat Ruritan Club will hold its annual BBQ/Cruise-in from 12-6 p.m. BBQ plates will include BBQ, potatoes, slaw, beans, roll, homemade dessert, and soft drink or water. Plates are $10 and will be available to eat in or take out. All cars, trucks, and motorcycles are welcome to the free event. For more information, call Kevin Smith at (276) 229-6493.

 

Sunday, Oct. 23

Friday, Oct. 28

A Trunk or Treat Halloween Fundraiser for Project Alive will be held at 264 Woodland Drive in Stuart from 5:30-9:30 p.m. The vendor fee is $20 and the entry fee for cars is $5 and $10 for trucks. Raffle tickets will be available for $1 each or $7 for a book.

 

Saturday, Oct. 29

Patrick County Pentecostal Holiness Church will hold a Trunk-or-Treat from 5-7 p.m. The event is free and open to the community. 

 

Ross Harbour Church will hold a Trunk-or-Treat event in the lower parking lot from 4-6 p.m.

 

Trunk or Treat at Minnie’s Chapel Wesleyan Church, 5:30-8 p.m. Hotdog supper available for everyone who comes. Hayride and lots of fun.

 

Fright Delight at ‘Scary’ Stone (Fairystone) State Park, a Halloween Celebration, 2 p.m. at Shelter 3, meet some ‘monstrous sized reptiles that include a giant snake, a 7-feet-long lizard and the opportunity to hold a python.

The Coffee Break Café hosts live music on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring an instrument, or just come and listen. 

 

The Patrick County Library hosts Story Time with Ms. Sam at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, with books, songs, finger plays, and more. For more information, call (276) 694-3352.

 

The Patrick County Library holds LEGO Club with Ms. Sam on Mondays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. This program is mainly intended for school age children. For more information, call (276) 694-3352.

 

The Ararat Ruritan Club hosts virtual raffles on its Facebook page on the first of each month. Various items are raffled off at $10 or $20 per limited chance. There are 30-35 chances on each raffle. The Patrick County Quilters holds a Sit-N-Sew on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Quilted Colors. For more information, call 276-694-3020 or email patrickcountyquilters@gmail.com.

 

The Rock Spring Art Show will be open at the Reynolds Homestead Sept. 12 through Oct. 29. The exhibit is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 1-4 p.m.

 

The Stuart Elementary School Running Club will hit the pavements along the sidewalks in town on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

 

Ross Harbour Church will be collecting pennies for “The Penny House” Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. during October.
