Thursday, May 14
The Patrick County School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the school board office.

Monday, May 18
The Executive Committee of the Patrick & Henry Community College Board will meet at 11:15 a.m. in conference room 145 of the Frith Economic Development Center; the Budget & Finance Committee meets at 11:45 a.m. in conference room 145 of the Frith Economic Development Center; and the College Board meets at 12:30 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall of the Frith Economic Development Center. All are public meetings, but public comments will not be received.

Tuesday, May 19
The Patrick County Department of Social Services Advisory Board will meet at 4 p.m. in the second-floor conference room of the Patrick County Administration Building.

Patrick County Planning Commission will hold its regular business meeting, 6 p.m., at Patrick & Henry Community College (Stuart Site), Community Room.

Wednesday, May 20
The Stuart Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the town office.

The Patrick County Food Bank will distribute food boxes at Commerce St., Stuart, 8:30-11 a.m. and 5-6:30 p.m.; Fellowship Church in Ararat, 8-10 a.m., and Meadows of Dan Community Building, 5:30 p.m.-until.

Thursday, May 14
The Patrick County Senior Citizens Group will meet at 11 a.m. in the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart. Entertainment will be provided by Herbert and Tina Conner. Grilled chicken breasts, bread, and beverages will be provided. Attendees are asked to bring your favorite vegetable and/or dessert to share.

Free community meal at Ross Harbour Church, 6260 Elamsville Road, 4-6 p.m. Music to follow.

Town of Stuart’s Farmers’ Market, great vegetables, fruits , meats, soaps, knitted items and baked goods as well as fresh eggs and coffee.

Saturday, May 16
Candidate Forum for Virginia’s 9th District. Adam Murphy, Joy Powers and Douglas Crockett are confirmed. Kenneth Turner will moderate the event that begins at 11:30 a.m., Star Theatre, 318 Patrick Ave, Stuart.

New Hope Community Church, 1863 Clark House Farm Road, will hold a night of music featuring the Wayside Singers starting at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, May 19
Annual meeting of the Stuart Cemetery Association, 5 p.m. in the Conference Room of Patrick & Henry Community College – Stuart site.

Saturday, May 23
The Patrick County Music Association (PCMA) will hold its free month ly concert at the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart. Barry Collins & the Mudflappers and Jason Harris & Friends will perform.

Annual meeting of Meadows of Dan Alumni, in the Meadows of Dan Elementary School cafeteria. Doors open at 5 p.m., covered dish dinner served at 6 p.m., with meeting. All attendees of Meadows of Dan School and guests are welcome.

Sunday, May 24
Old-fashioned Day at Sycamore Baptist Church, starting at 11 a.m., to help celebrate 100 years of the building. History presentation, special music, and preaching scheduled with a meal to follow.

Monday, June 1 – Thursday, June 4
Snowball Mountain Challenge at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church, 6:30-8:30 p.m. A meal will be provided. All ages welcome.

Vacation Bible School, Emerald Crossing, an Irish adventure through Psalm 23, for 4-13 year olds at Stuart Church of Living Water. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Bible school is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Pre-registration is appreciated at www.stuartlivingwater.com or by calling 276-694-3322.

Saturday, June 6
The Patrick County Music Association (PCMA) hosts Songwriter’s Circle Series at the VA Motorsports Hall of Fame Auditorium. Doors open at 5 p.m., with music starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available, at The Coffee Break, Quilted Colors, and the Patrick County Tourism Office.

Parks and Recreation offers soccer registration for the 2026-27 school year. Students aged 3 to 14 (7th grade or under) as of July 25, are eligible to participate. Registration forms are available at any elementary school or call the recreation office at (276) 694–3917. Games will be played July-September. The registration deadline is May 11.

VFW Post 7800 meets the 4th Tuesday of every month. Premeeting meal starts at 6 p.m.; meeting starts at 7 p.m., 939 VFW Road, Patrick Springs. Qualified new members welcome.

Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard meets on the first Tuesday of every month at the American Legion Post 105, at 7 p.m. Interested veterans are welcome to attend.

Inside yard sale to benefit Patrick County Alzheimer’s Group LLC. 109 Buena Vista, Stuart, Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members meet on the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Alzheimer’s office. New members are welcome. For more information, call (276) 693-6018.

The Coffee Break Café hosts live music on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring an instrument, or just come and listen.

Community meal at Salem Church on Salem Church Road in Critz, the first Sunday of every month at 12:10 p.m. Call (276) 222-1069 with questions.

The Patrick Springs Ruritan Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month in the community room at Patrick Springs Park, 2 Ballpark Road, Patrick Springs.

Vesta Alzheimer’s Group LLC meets at the Vesta Community Center on the third Tuesday each month at noon. Both groups welcome new members and invite caregivers to attend. Literature is also available.

Ararat Ruritan Club holds Rook games every Monday night from 6:30-8 p.m.

Free Community Meal, on the 4th Wednesday, 5 p.m., Raven Rock Wesleyan Church, 1912 Raven Rock Road, Ararat. Take out or dine in. Call Scott or Nann Phillips at (276) 773-6004 or email pastor@raven rockchurch.org.

The Carroll County Genealogy Club is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The Patrick County Senior Cit izens Group is sponsoring a June 2 – 5, 2026 trip to the eastern shore of Virginia. Trip flyers are available at the Patrick County Recreation Office (276) 694-3917 or by contacting Judy Lacks, trip coordinator, at (276) 694-4767.

Willis Gap Community Center: Members Meeting, the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.; Appalachian Acoustic Open Jam, every Friday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for food, with music and dancing, 6:30-9 p.m.; Golden Oldies Open Jam is on the last Tuesday of the month. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for food, music, and dancing from 6:30-9 p.m.

The Patrick County Senior Citi zens Group is sponsoring two sep arate day trips with each trip featuring charter bus transportation, an exceptional show performance, and special luncheon meal. Trip 1, Thursday, August 20, to see “ The Classic Country Jubilee” at the his toric Rudy Theatre in Selma, N.C. Trip 2, Thursday, December 3, to see “An Appalachian Christmas” at The Wohlfahrt Haus Theatre in Wytheville, Va. A limited number of seats are still available for either trip.
