The Patrick County High School Varsity Golf Team competed at Copper Cove Country Club September 1.  Magna Vista won the match with a team score of 335. Patrick County scored 338, giving them a 2nd place finish while Franklin County shot a 346. Jalen Hagwood led the Cougars with an 80.  Wesley Roberson shot an 82, Jordan Harris shot an 85, and Lauren Worley had a score of 91.

Coach Philip Steagall said, “It was a good team score on a tough golf course that most of the players were playing for the 1st time.”

The Cougars traveled to Olde Mill Golf Club September 6 to compete in an All-District Match.

Halifax was the winner of the match, with Patrick County and Magna Vista tying for 2nd with a score of 325.

Roberson led the Cougars with a score of 75. Hagwood shot a 78, Chance Corns shot an 84, and Kylee Joyce shot an 88.

“It was our best finish of the season. We just need to keep working hard as we get ready for post season play in a couple of weeks,” Steagall said.
