PCHS Football Team Defeats North Stokes

The Patrick County Varsity Cougars defeated North Stokes by a score of 34-0 Friday night at John D. Hooker Field. The Cougars came in with a stout defensive effort led by Jay Howard, who had 3 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 7 tackles, and 3 assists. 

Sam Hubbard added 1 tackle for loss, 1 pass break up, 7 tackles, and 3 assists, Matthew Allen added 5 tackles and 3 assists, Peyton Cambron had 4 tackles and 10 assists. 

Rawl Mabe, Peyton Stovall, and Jermaine Penn had 3 tackles each. Colin Campbell, Jai Penn, and Ty Stowe-Holt added 2 tackles each. Triston Underwood had 2 pass break ups and 1 tackle. Will Black, Carlos Becerril, Kyle Handy, Easton Harris, and Seth Geiger all added a tackle as well. 

Offensively, the Cougars were led on the ground by Demontez Hill who had 151 yards rushing on 17 carries and 1 reception for 7 yards with 2 touchdowns and a 2-point conversion. 

Jermaine Penn added 95 yards rushing on 5 carries with one touchdown. Underwood had 2 carries for 50 yards.  Stephen Spencer added 18 yards on 6 carries, and Howard had 11 yards on 3 carries. 

The Cougars went 4-6 passing with 134 yards in the air. Hill went 1-2 for 30 yards, and Underwood went 3-4 for 104 yards and a touchdown. 

The leading receivers were Jai Penn who had 1 reception for 70 yards and a touchdown, and Cambron who had 2 receptions for 57 yards. 

The Cougars will be back in action next Friday night when they travel to Chatham to take on the Cavaliers.
