Curtis Leon Williams, 84, of Carolina Road, Mount Airy, N.C., died Saturday night, March 26, 2016, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C.
He was born June 10, 1931, in Patrick County and was a son of the late Everett Vance Williams Sr. and Audrey Hopkins Williams. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Williams; an infant brother, James Leonard Williams; and two brothers, Everett Vance Williams Jr. and Ralph Williams.
He served in the United States Air Force and later retired from Sprint Telephone Company after 25 years of service. He was a faithful member of Granite Masonic Lodge #322 AF and AM, the Oasis Shrine, the Surry Shrine Club, and was a charter member of the Surry Shrine Mini-truckers.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Mary Sue Turner Williams of the home; two sons, Larry Williams of Siloam, N.C., and Mark Williams of the home; and a sister, Peggy Hemmings of Dobson.
The funeral service was held Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with the Rev. Russell Vass officiating. Entombment was at Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Masonic rites conducted by Granite Masonic Lodge #322 AF and AM.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
