Douglas Leon Shuff, Sr.

Mr. Douglas Leon Shuff, Sr., age 74, of Woolwine, VA passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born in Patrick County on October 24, 1948, to the late Warren G. and Agnes Rorrer Shuff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Hubert Wills, his mother-in-law Ruth Wills, his sisters-in-law Pat Shuff and Anita Nestor. Mr. Shuff’s love for the Lord was shown through his dedication of the ministry for over 50 years. He was a semi-retired pastor of New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church in Elkin, NC, and a member of the Cornerstone Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. He spent time each morning in prayer and Bible reading. He was a member of Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Shuff was blessed with a loving wife of 52 and a half years, three children, eight grandchildren, and four grand-dogs, with whom he loved spending time with. He enjoyed cooking, eating ice-cream, gardening, and old cars.

Surviving is his wife, Dorcas Wills Shuff of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Shuff Jr. (Emily) of Woolwine, VA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tabitha Shuff Sigmon (Steve) of Advance, NC, Tonya Shuff Randolph (Ronnie) of Chesnee SC; eight grandchildren, Zachary Randolph, David Sigmon, AJ Sigmon, Lexie Shuff, Paisley Shuff, Nathan Shuff, Charlee Shuff, Christopher Shuff; one sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca Shuff Clark (Ron); two brothers, Bennett Shuff and Barney Shuff; sister-in-law, Patti Corum (Willie); brother-in-law, Bill Nester; and several nieces, nephews, as well as, great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mr. Douglas Leon Shuff, Sr. will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church in Woolwine with Pastor Kenneth Terry officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one and a half hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday afternoon. The family will accept flowers, or memorial donations may be made to Global Outreach-International Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Box 12609, Oklahoma City, OK 73157, or to Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 38, Woolwine, VA 24185.
