<a href="http:\/\/www.mountainmedianews.com\/enterprise\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/obit-Nowlin-Douglas.jpeg" rel="attachment wp-att-1475"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1475" src="http:\/\/www.mountainmedianews.com\/enterprise\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/obit-Nowlin-Douglas-196x300.jpeg" alt="obit Nowlin, Douglas" width="196" height="300" \/><\/a>Douglas M. Nowlin, age 71, of Stuart, died Friday, March 18, 2016, at his home.\r\nHe was born in Danville on May 13, 1944, and was a son of the late Charlie E. Nowlin and Lillie \u201cLaura\u201d Penn Nowlin. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Penny O\u2019Neal; and a brother, Rev. James \u201cDobbie\u201d Nowlin.\r\nHe had been a heavy equipment operator for many years and had attended New Hope Baptist Church.\r\nSurviving are his wife of 48 years, Barbara Griffith Nowlin of the home; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Stella and James Hairston of Eden, N.C., Linda and Willie Clark of Martinsville, Janice Nowlin of Patrick Springs, Sandra Nowlin of Stuart, and Ann and David Watlington of Belews Creek, N.C;. one brother, Leroy Nowlin of Patrick Springs; and a nephew and several nieces.\r\nFuneral services were held Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Douglas Scales officiating.
