Dovie Marie Fain Spencer

Mrs. Dovie Marie Fain Spencer, age 84, of Patrick Springs, Virginia departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at her residence. She was born on May 31, 1939, to the late James Irvin Fain and Nancy Emmarie Handy Fain. In addition to her parents, Dovie was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Fain, Raymond Fain, and Charlie Fain. Dovie had retired from Bassett Walker with over 30 years of experience and enjoyed creating quilts. She was a loving wife, mother, “granny or ninny”, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Mrs. Spencer will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish the special memories of Mrs. Dovie Spencer are her loving husband, Frank A. Spencer, Sr.  of the home; one son, Frank A. Spencer, Jr. of Stuart, Virginia; one daughter, Teresa Spencer Lawson of Patrick Springs, Virginia; five grandchildren, Joshua Wayne Lawson, Autumn Angel Spencer, Kevan Tanner Spencer, Kody Austin Spencer, Keeper Trey Spencer; one great-grandchild, Gaige Devon Lawson; three sisters-in-law, Sue Fain of Stuart, Virginia, Carol Fain of Stuart, Virginia, Joann Fain of Rocky Mount, Virginia; two nephews; one niece; and many dear friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Dovie Spencer will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor J.R. Shelton officiating. The burial will follow the funeral service in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, September 24, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
