Donald Lee Haynes, 88 of Floyd formerly of Woolwine, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Claudine Vest Haynes; parents, Murray C. & Allene Moran Haynes; and brother & sister-in-law, James C. & June Haynes.

He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Anthony & Jessica Talley-Haynes; grandchildren, Alexis Hudson and Sekai Talley-LaRoche; great-grandchild, Eleanor Hudson; sisters-in-law & brother-in-law, Ina Wood and Lorine & David Huff; nephew, J.C. (Barbara) Haynes; and nieces, Anita (Lamont) Lancaster and Debra Cook.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in the Jacksonville Cemetery with Rev. Richard Thomas officiating and Military Rites by the VFW Post #7854 and American Legion Post #127.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Doris Harris, Mike Still, and Barbara Pack for their love and devotion as caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Floyd County Fire Department, P.O. Box 33, Floyd, VA 24091, to the Floyd County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 257, Floyd, VA 24091, or to the Floyd County Humane Society, P.O. Box 862, Floyd, VA 24091.
