Mr. William Haynes Gunter, age 80 of Stuart, Virginia passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at his home. He was born in Sumter, South Carolina on January 1, 1943, to the late William Irvin Gunter and Rheba Haynes Gunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Christopher Todd Gunter, and Adam Haynes Gunter. Mr. Gunter was a straightforward man, he loved his cars, kids, and animals.

Mr. Gunter is survived by four children, Samuel Gunter (Patricia) of Collinsville, Rebekah Baker (Jeff) of Martinsville, Tiffany Bateman (David) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Junebug Reynolds of Stuart; sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, John Gunter of Riner, Virginia; his dog, Big Boy; and his cats.

A graveside service for Mr. Gunter will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gunter Family Cemetery with Alfred Turner officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Clover Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 829, Stuart, VA 24171. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is in charge of the arrangements, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
