Edith Juanita Turner, 80, Bassett, VA passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Sovah Health in Martinsville, VA. She was born on November 18, 1942, in Harlan County, Kentucky to the late Silas Hall and Eva Ford Hall Brim. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Leonard Tonie Turner, her son; Kenneth Leon Turner, two Son in law’s; Ricky Branch and Dennis Napier, and a sister; Thelma Powers, Mrs. Turner also had five brothers that had passed before her; Amos Hall, Herman Hall, Eugene Hall, Ralph Hall and Lawrence Hall.
She was a member of Stella Christian Church for 40 years and she was a seamstress in the textile industry. Her nickname was “Sassy” and her daughter said she lived up to the name.
Surviving is one daughter, Laura Ann Napier of Bassett. Her sisters; Janice Williams (Wayne), Dorothy Flippen and Christine Shupe. Two brothers; Millard (Nina) & Phillip (Martha) Hall. One Grandchild; Megan Pruitt (Taylor). Two Great Grandchildren; Tabitha Grace Pruitt & Isaac Taylor Pruitt.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday January 4th, 2023, with Pastor Steve Hayes officiating. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 1-2 pm.at Stella Christian Church. The burial will be at County Line Church of God of Prophecy/ PRIVATE.
