Elizabeth Conner Hockett, 89, of Meadows of Dan, died on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Heritage Hall in Meadows of Dan.
She was born on April 30, 1927 in Roanoke and was a daughter of the late Osie Gertis Howell and Edgar Thomas Conner. She was also preceded in death by her son; Van Arthur Clifton, a sister; Arlene Meeks, and two brothers; James Conner and Ted Conner.
She worked in the textile business until she retired.
Surviving are her husband; Wimbush “Bush” Hockett of the home; one sister; Opal C. Webster of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Mountain View United Methodist Church cemetery in Meadows of Dan with Bill Banks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Norris Funeral Services Chapel in Stuart.
