Fairy Stone State Park will host FlowFest, a celebration of the Fourth of July ( but held on July 2), at picnic shelter 2 from noon until dusk.
FlowFest is a “mega-musical program” to benefit the Caring Hearts Free Clinic of Patrick County, according to a news release.
To celebrate Independence Day, FlowFest will present a full day of concerts by gifted local musicians including the Les Moore Trio, Slick Jr. and the Reactors, the Lone Ivy String Band, the FARM TEAM, Sergio Gonzales and Marcie Horne, Silvertree and Lora Mahaffey.
The music runs the gamut from Americana and rock to blues and jazz, with plenty of traditional music for everyone to enjoy.
There will be food vendors serving barbecue, fried fish, and much more.
Balloon animals and “Happy Face” face-painting will be available for kids from noon until 3 p.m.
Admission to the festival is free, but there is a $5 per vehicle fee to enter the park.
Fairy Stone State Park also offers trails and picnic areas and a beautiful swimming beach (additional fee required).
Bring your lawn chairs and relax in the shade while enjoying a great variety of music.
