This barn located at 102 South County Line Road was destroyed by fire Feb. 18, and the pigs kept inside were killed. Firefighters from the Patrick Henry, Patrick Springs, Moorefield Store, Horsepasture and Bassett volunteer fire departments battled the blaze. Steve Allen, Patrick County emergency management coordinator, and the J.E.B. Stuart Rescue Squad also responded to the fire. Firefighters were on the scene about two hours, Allen said.
