Floyd Akers Lawless, 84, of Stuart, died Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C.
He was born July 14, 1932, in Patrick County, and was a son of the late John Lester and Lucy Holt Lawless. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Radford, and John Henry Lawless; sisters, Alma McHone, Broksie Martin, and Lucille Joyce; and a great-grandchild, Brenton Hall.
He was a former employee of Vaughn Furniture Co.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Hall Lawless; sons, Don Lawless (Robin), Timmy Lawless (Annette), Reverend Mark Lawless (Kristy), and Teddy Lawless (Eva); daughters, Joy Shoemaker (David) and Sandra Baker; a sister, Gracie Corns; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Sunday at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge, N.C. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
