The following cases were heard and disposed of in Patrick County General District Court during the month of May.

CRIMINAL AND TRAFFIC

May 1:

 

Penny Foley, Stuart, was charged with trespassing after forbidden, guilty, fined $100, costs $111, 30 days in jail with 28 days suspended.

 

Timothy Lee Craig, Bassett, was charged with drive suspended license, guilty, fined $100, costs $121; insufficient tread on tires, guilty, fined $30, costs $10; improper registration, guilty, fined $25, no liability insurance, guilty, fined $100, costs $25; safety belt violation, guilty, fined $25.

 

David Robin Smith, Jr., Walnut Cove, N.C., was charged with reckless driving – speed 75/55 zone, guilty of improper equipment, fined $150, costs $61.

 

James Tyler Jenkins, Stuart, was charged with fail to drive on right side of highway, guilty, fined $30, costs $61.

 

Dustin Maclay Scott, Stuart, was charged with eluding police-endanger, certified to grand jury; reckless driving, endanger life/limb/property, certified misdemeanor; speeding 68/55 zone, guilty; no driver’s license, certified misdemeanor.

 

Clarence Michael Eugene Peery, Bassett, was charged with murder, first degree, certified to grand jury; use firearm in felony, first offense, certified to grand jury.

 

May 8:

 

Autumn Arlene Monia, Spencer, was charged with drive suspended, first offense, guilty, fined $100, costs $86; no vehicle registration, guilty, fined $25, costs $10.

 

Drew Conner Plaster, Bassett, was charged with possess alcohol acquired illegally, guilty, fined $170, costs $161.

 

Edilberto Coronado Lopez, Jr., Stuart, was charged with two counts of petty larceny, certified misdemeanors; one count of grand larceny, certified to grand jury; and one count of unauthorized possession: drug paraphernalia, guilty, fined $100, costs $206.

 

May 15:

 

Lonnie O. Bowman, Cana, was charged with drive while revoked, guilty, fined $100, costs $121; defective equipment, guilty, fined $30, costs $10; tires less than 2/32, guilty, fined $30, costs $10, safety belt violation, guilty, fined $25.

 

Jonathan Adam Brown, Bassett, charged with reckless driving, guilty, fined $150, costs $61.

 

Megan Rose Leech, Cana, no liability insurance, guilty, fined $100, costs $121; fail to obtain registration, guilty, fined $30, costs $10; drive suspended, guilty, fined $100, costs $25.

 

Devon Lee Thompson, Bassett, was charged with drive suspended, guilty, fined $100, costs $35.

 

Taci Leanne Bowden, Bassett, was charged with shoplift/alter merchandise, guilty, 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended, fined $100, costs $216.

 

Melanie Sue Prunty, Stuart, was charged with drive while suspended, guilty, fined $100, costs $121.

 

 

May 22:

 

Anita A. Green, Rural Hall, N.C., was charged with trespass after forbidden, guilty, fined $75, costs $86.

 

David Purse York, no address listed, was charged with trespass after forbidden, guilty, 30 days in jail with all suspended, fined $75, costs $86.

 

Raymond Tovon Lowe, Madison, N.C., was charged with fail to appear, guilty, fined $25, costs $86.

 

Kenneth Allen Yarger, Stuart, was charged with non-compliance with VASAP.

 

Alethea Diana Collins, Madison, N.C., was charged with reckless driving – speed 81/60 zone, guilty, fined $210, costs $131.

 

Vladimir Moreno, Ararat, was charged with assault, costs $216, dismissed.

 

Penny White Foley, Stuart, was charged with fail to appear, guilty, costs $111; defrauding hotels/motels, guilty, 30 days in jail with all suspended, fined $100, costs $86; violation of good behavior, guilty, fined $50.

 

Jearl D. Dillon, Patrick Springs, was charged with assault, costs $71, dismissed; unauthorized possession: drug paraphernalia, not guilty.

 

Cynthia Haley, Sandy Level, was charged with assault, costs $71, dismissed.

 

May 29:

 

Zachary Robert Abrams, Ararat, was charged with reckless driving-generally, guilty, fined $200, costs $86.

 

Raymond Tovon Lowe, Madison, N.C., was charged with non-compliance with VASAP, dismissed.
