George Edward Nolen

George Edward Nolen, 79, of Danville passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, after a decline in health for several years.

Born in Patrick County, VA on June 12, 1946, the son of the late Dalton Edward Nolen and Marie Alderman Nolen.
George was the Agriculture Teacher at Blairs Middle School for 34 years. He was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church.

On August 15, 1971, he married Judy Presnell Nolen who survives. Survivors also include a son, Spencer Edward Nolen, Sr., and fiancée, Julie Crouch, two sisters, Brenda N. Barbour, Carolyn N. Belcher, and his three beloved grandsons, Spencer E. “Buddy” Nolen, Jr., Morgan Wayne Nolen, and Carson Andrew Nolen. He was predeceased by his daughter, Annette N. Ferguson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Rev. Ryan Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:45 prior to the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Bachelors Hall Fire & Rescue 1301 Berry Hill Rd Danville, VA 24541 or to Tunstall Fire & Rescue 740 Tunstall High Rd Dry Fork, VA 24549. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Nolen family.
