Girls Tennis bound for regionals

The Patrick County Girls Tennis Team faced G.W. Danville in the Piedmont District Tournament on Monday, May 9, and the Lady Cougars scored a 5-2 win over the Lady Eagles. In singles, Patrick County won 4-2.

Sadie Gunn (GW) defeated Marissa Bentley 6-0, 6-1, Mia Stowe (PC) defeated Natalie Harris 6-0, 6-1, Madison Mullis (PC) defeats Kyra Alexander 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, Kirstan Ramirez (GW) defeated Brianna Puckett 6-3, 6-1, Karris Bowman (PC) defeated Morgan Parsons 6-3, 6-1

Katie Vernon won by GW 6th seed forfeit. 

In Doubles, Karris Bowman/Katie Vernon won by GW 3rd seed forfeit. 

On Wednesday, May 11, Patrick County travelled to Bassett, losing 1-5 overall. 

Izzy Humble (BHS) defeated Marissa Bentley 6-2, 6-1, Mia Stowe (PC) defeats Lara Hall 6-3, 7-5, Taylor Reed (BHS) defeated Madison Mullis 6-2, 6-0, Sarah Hagwood (BHS) defeated Brianna Puckett 6-3, 6-1, Bailey Dyer (BHS) defeated Katie Vernon 6-2, 6-0, Rachel Hagood won by PC 6th seed forfeit. 

The Cougars will be travelling to Virginia Tech for the Regional Tournament next week.
