Glen Davis Niten (Papa) age 72 of Ararat, VA, went home on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, his death was sudden and took place at his home in Ararat, VA.  He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Patrick Co., VA on December 9, 1949, to the late William Lawrence Niten and late Eunice Marie Bowman Niten.  Left to cherish his memories, Judy Elizabeth Goins Niten wife of 52 years. A son, Michael & Susan Niten, a daughter, Glenna & Neal Harris, a granddaughter, Brittany Carter, 2 great grandchildren, Cailey and Jesse Bo Davis Arnett, all from Ararat, VA.  Brother, Richard (Libby) Niten; sisters, Brenda Sales, Jannie Booth, Jean (Marshall) Gordy, Judy Mount, Elizabeth (Roger) Esseck.  Several nieces and nephew. His special friends, Andrew and Donald.  In addition to his parents, Glen was proceeded in death by brothers, William and Oral Niten, sisters, Emily East, and Margaret Niten. Mr. Niten attended Unity Church in Ararat, VA. His days of retirement were filled with the joys of hunting, fishing, gardening, and swimming. The biggest care in his life was his loving family.  He cherished and loved watching his grand babies grow and strive. He especially loved passing his wisdom to them as he watched them strive in life. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War and will receive Military Honors. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be donated to Barnard Family Cemetery, C/O Donna Mankins, 3028 Raven Rock Rd, Ararat VA 24053. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
