Golf team win three times on the road

The Varsity golf team had a busy but successful week on the road. On Tuesday, the team traveled to Carroll County and won the matchup against all the 8 team from the Piedmont. The team finished with a score of 315–5 strokes better than second place Franklin County.

Jarrod Burnette had the lowest score, of 73, with Wesley Biggs and Daniel Smith both posting a 80. Jacob Lowell had a 82. Coach Philip Steagall praised his entire team, stating that “it was a great win for us as a team,” and he hopes the victory would have a carryover effect.

The Varsity golf team won their next match at Carroll County against Chatham the following day. The Cougars posted a 350 score for a two stroke victory. Burnette lead the way with a low score of 81, followed by Smith’s 85.

On Thursday, the team posted won again against Carroll County with a team score of 167 against the host team’s 188 in a nine hole match . Once again, Burnette led the team with a low score of 35   Smith posted a score of 41, Biggs had a 45, and Lowell a 46. Steagall said that Burnette “had a great round of golf” and that team had a “good week with three match wins.”
