Green thumbs picked new plants at annual sale Saturday

The Patrick County Master Gardeners’ annual plant sale Saturday attracted more than 250 gardeners making new purchases. Some plants were packaged in boxes, others were carefully carried one or two at a time, and still others were ‘hugged’ to waiting vehicles and the trip home.

Excited gardeners lined up in the fog at the start of what was to become a successful 2023 Master Gardener Plant Sale.
More than 250 happy gardeners visited the Master Gardeners’ annual plant sale to purchase plants, prompting the group to thank the community for its support. All proceeds are re-invested in the community in the form of scholarships, donations to nonprofits, support of Native Community Gardens, school gardens and programs, STEP garden, Landmark gardens, Learning Garden, Seed Library, Books, Blooms and Bugs Library garden, and farmers market programs as well as other community programs.
