The Patrick County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 28 at 6:15 p.m. to gain public input on proposed amendment to the current Dog Ordinance.

The amendment calls for replacing the one, two, and three year dog licenses with a $20 lifetime dog license.

Supervisors also plan to discuss the statue in the courtyard.

County Administrator Tom Rose said the discussion was prompted by “national events and how they will affect the commonwealth.”

Rose added the discussion will be held for informational purposes only.

Lock Boyce, Mayo River District supervisor, said he asked for the item to be added to the agenda.

However, “there is no controversy,” he said, and added discussion is only to present informational purposes.

Both the hearing and discussion will be held in the 3rd floor boardroom of the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Building, located at 106 Rucker Street, Stuart.
