Holt, Moorefield win Strawberry Festival 5K

Sixty-one runners/walkers took off on the third annual Strawberry Festival 5K on Saturday, May 21. When it was over, Patrick County Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Holt had repeated as overall winner for the second year in a row with a time of 18:50 for the three-mile course.
Runner up was Patrick County High School junior Bailey Holt at 18:58. Mark Joyce of Bassett rounded out the top three.
On the women’s side, PCHS freshman Montana Moorefield was the winner with a time of 22:56. Second was Stuart’s Rebecca Adcock with a time of 23:25. Ten-year-old Missy Hazzard finished third.
The event was held to raise funds to upgrade the playground equipment at DeHart Park in Stuart.
