James “Dale” Dalton

Mr. James “Dale” Dalton, age 56 of Patrick Springs, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, at SOVAH Hospital of Martinsville. He was born in Lexington, Virginia on April 22, 1966, to the late Thomas Haley Dalton and Virginia Esther Wagoner Dalton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by a brother, Stevie “P.L.” Dalton. Dale was a hard worker and had worked for Ten Oaks in Stuart. He was an outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. Dale was an avid Raider’s fan and was part of the “Raider Nation”. Mr. Dalton loved spending time on the farm with his grandkids and just simply “hanging out”. Dale will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Dalton is survived by two sons, Dustin Dalton (Kellie) of Stuart, Virginia, Tommy Dalton (Shelby) of Stuart, Virginia; six grandchildren, Caroline, Connor, Patrick, Avery, Ellie and Isla; a sister, Vernie Downs (Nick) of Stuart, Virginia, Teddy Dalton (April) of Bassett, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; one special nephew, Bradley Puckett of Patrick Springs, Virginia; and his beloved dog, Niki.

A memorial visitation for Mr. Dale Dalton will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.  Memorial donations in memory of Dale may be made to the PAWS (Patrick Animal Welfare Society), P.O. Box 743, Stuart, VA  24171. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is serving the Dalton family, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
