James Everett Ellis, 90 of Ripplemead, VA departed this life in his home December 26, 2021 in the care of his loving family.  Born March 16, 1931, in North Carolina, he was a son of the late Clinton and Mattie Hutchens Ellis.

One of James most proud accomplishments was when he married his wife, Nadean on August 20, 1953.  Mr. Ellis served his country faithfully, ensuring freedom for all in the United States Air Force.  Later he would serve his country as an Educator in the Giles County Public School System, where he also served as a member of the Giles County Education Credit Union.  James was faithful to practice his Baptist faith.  He took great pride in his family, gardening, bluegrass music, and was an avid Tarheel fan (especially of baseball and basketball).

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife Nadean; sisters Evelyn Shough, Marie Harger, and Katherine Williams.

Left to cherish his memory to their hearts are his sons, Jimmy Ellis (Beth) of Narrows, VA, and Jerry Ellis (Mary) of Chesterfield, VA; grandchildren, David, Jessica, Sarah, Garrison, Emily, Meaghan, Nathan, and Kelly; and 25 great-grandchildren.

There will be a funeral service conducted Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the First Baptist Church-Narrows at 12:00 PM. Funeral Family will receive friends at First Baptist Church-Narrows from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  A guestbook is available by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com.  The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to be serving the Ellis Family.
