James “Jimmy” Herbert Cooper, 75, of Stuart, VA died on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection. He was born on November 2, 1946 in Patrick County to the late Nancy Joyce Cooper and James Herbert Cooper, SR.

He worked at Fieldcrest Mills in Textile, was a member of Victory Baptist Church and served in the United States Army.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Cooper of the home, one son, James Herbert Cooper III (Sherry) of King, NC, step-son, Kelvin L Wright of Bassett, VA, one sister, Nancy Howell of Stuart, VA, seven grandchildren, Nick Cooper, Megan Cooper Moore (Luke), Kayleigh Cooper, Ashlyn Cooper, Lindsay Cooper, Peyton Cooper, Brynlee Cooper, three great-grandchildren, Brantley Cooper, Piper Moore and Hudson Moore.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Dan Schellings and Preacher Kelvin Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Fairystone Baptist Church with military rites by Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.  to 12:30 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Victory Baptist Church P.O. Box 737 Fieldale, VA 24089.

Norris Funeral Services in Stuart is serving the Cooper Family.
