Mrs. Jewel Ore Wilson, age 83, of Ararat, VA passed away at her home on November 23, 2024. She was born on May 4, 1941, to the late James and Pearlie Austin Ore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Daniel Wilson; brothers, James Albert Lee Ore, Donnie Dexter Ore; and sister, Carolyn Ore Burchette. Jewel was a long-time member of Creasey’s Chapel Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Stuart Chapter #25. She always enjoyed giving her time by volunteering with many organizations in the county. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by a daughter, Sandy Haynes (Kennie) of Stuart; two grandchildren, Jennifer Haynes Hartman (Eddie) of Stuart, VA and Jamie Haynes (Ashley) of Concord, NC; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Shirley Keene of Stuart, VA and Linda Conner (Wayne) of Martinsville, VA.
A memorial visitation for Mrs. Wilson will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, VA. Burial will be private.
