JV Volleyball Wins One, Loses Two

Sophie Scruggs receives the serve

The JV Lady Cougars hosted Chatham September 12, defeating the Lady Cavaliers in two sets: 25-18, 25-20. Camille Gonzalez had 5 kills, 10 assists, and 1 ace. Abby Royal had 4 kills, Jayden Callahan had 6 aces, and Sophie Scruggs added 3 kills. 

The Cougars fell to Floyd in three sets September 13 with scores of 25-6, 22-25, and 11-15. Callahan had 7 kills, and 4 digs. Ginny Nations had 5 kills, 2 aces, and 2 digs. Gonzalez had 17 assists, and 4 digs.  Madison Scott had 4 aces and 4 digs. Bella Lemons had 5 digs and 4 aces while Sophie Scruggs added 4 kills. The JV Lady Cougars fell to Magna Vista in three sets on the road with scores of 15-35, 25-19, and 7-15. Callahan had 4 kills, 3 aces, and 5 digs. Gonzalez had 9 assists, 2 kills, and 2 aces. Scott had 8 digs and 2 assists Sophie Scruggs added 3 kills. 

The JV team is now 5-6 on the season.
