PCHS Varsity Football Loses a Close One

The Patrick County Varsity Football Team lost a close game on the road in Chatham Friday, 21-19.

Sam Hubbard led the Cougars defensively with 10 tackles, 6 assists, and 3 tackles for loss. Matthew Allen had 6 tackles and 4 assists. Peyton Cambron had 5 tackles, 3 assists, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 pass break up. Paul Pascale had 4 tackles and 4 assists. Stephen Spencer had 3 tackles, 3 assists, and 1 forced fumble. 

Trevor Joyce had 3 tackles, 2 assists, and 1 tackle for loss. Jermaine Penn had 3 tackles and 1 pass break up. Payton Stovall had 2 tackles, 2assists, and 1 tackle for loss. Jay Howard had 2 tackles and 2 assists.  

Jai Penn had 2 tackles and 1 assist. Will Black had 2tackles, 1 assist, and 1 tackle for loss. Rawl Mabe had 1 tackle, 2 assists, and 1 tackle for loss. Triston Underwood had 1 assist and 1 pass break up. Tyler Stowe-Holt and Demontez Hill had 1 tackle each, and Carlos Becerril 2 assists. 

Offensively, the Cougars were led on the ground by Aden Penn with 5 carries for 65 yards. Hill had 14 carries for 38 yards and 1 touchdown. Jermaine Penn had 7 carries for 22 yards. Triston Underwood had 2 carries for 7 yards. Jay Howard had 2 carries for 6 yards.  Stephen Spencer had 3 carries for 1 yard.

The Cougars passing attack was led by Triston Underwood, who went 6-12 for 205 yards.

Leading the Cougars Receiving was Jai Penn, with 3 catches for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. Peyton Cambron had 1 reception for 37 yards. Aden Penn had 1 reception for 18 yards, and Demontez Hill had 1 reception for 1 yard. 

The Cougars will travel to Danville next week where they will take on the GW Eagles.
