Lady Cougar JVs split two games

The Patrick County High School JV girls’ basketball team defeated Halifax County last Monday night.

Jadyn Lewis led the scoring with nine points and five steals. Logan McGhee added seven points and seven blocked shots. Jordan Haas had six points with four rebounds. Julianna Overby had five points. Kaitlyn Spencer led the team with six rebounds, and Danielle King and Abigail Epperson each had five.

“The team played great defense allowing only one point in the second half, and every player scored,” said Coach Ryan Pendleton.

The JVs lost to Franklin County last Tuesday night, 46-34, dropping their record to 10-5 for the year.

Jordan Haas led the scoring with 10 points; Abigail Epperson had seven and Logan McGhee added six. Danielle King had five points with four assists. Epperson and McGhee each had four rebounds in the loss.

Last Thursday, the JV Lady Cougars won in an overtime thriller over Martinsville 46-42 to improve their record to 11-5.

Jadyn Lewis was the high scorer with 11 points; she also had four assists, five steals and seven rebounds. Gracelyn Hubbard, Logan McGhee and Abigail Epperson each had eight points. Jordan Haas had eight rebounds and McGhee had seven in the win.
