The Patrick County High School Lady Cougar soccer team lost two matches last week, falling to Bassett 0-8 and George Washington of Danville 0-8.
In Wednesday’s game against the Lady Bengals, Maya Watson had six saves on goal.
In last Thursday’s game against the Lady Eagles of Danville, Watson had 13 saves on goal.
“We came out slow in the first halves of both games but played better in the second halves,” said Coach Sandra Rakes.
“The team is young and this is the first time most of them are seeing competition at the varsity level. They are working hard and I am seeing improvements in every game,” Rakes added.
This week the Lady Cougars traveled to Christiansburg Monday afternoon and traveled to George Washington of Danville Tuesday, Thursday they host Tunstall with a match starting at 5:30 p.m.
