LOUENNA STANLEY PENDLETON “TOOTSIE”

Mrs. Louenna Stanley Pendleton “Tootsie”, 92, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at her home. She was born in Welsh, West Virginia to the late John Stanley and Wahneta Yoakum Stanley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Ellis Pendleton; two sisters, Donnis Stanley, and Louetta Rakes; and three brothers, Vernon Stanley, John Dale Stanley, and Rowan Stanley. Tootsie was an avid gardener and loved working in her flowers. She was an honorary member of the Horsepasture Volunteer Fire Department. She was a wonderful sister, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Pendleton is survived by her three children, Dale Ellis Pendleton and wife Donna of Critz, Jerry Alvin Pendleton and wife Brenda of Martinsville, and Judy Ann Pendleton LaChance and husband Richard of Kila, Mont.; five grandchildren, Leigh Ann Hazelwood and husband Mike, Christopher Pendleton, Talmadge Martin, Re’wa Barbour and husband Jim, Stacie Shough and husband Mike; six great-grandchildren, Lilly, Lauren, Aubrey, Journie, Karis, and Tanner; four sisters, Drema Byrd and husband John of Pawleys Island, S.C., Vivia Graham and husband Bill of Windsor, S.C., Audrey Stanley of Lexington, Ore., and Rondalene Forney of Durham, N.C.; one brother, Donavon Stanley of Meadows of Dan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Pendleton was held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Eric Kieselbach officiating. Burial was private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Horsepasture Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 34, Spencer, Va. 24165, or to Horsepasture Volunteer Fire Dept., 17815 A. L. Philpott Highway, Ridgeway, Va. 24148. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
