Mr. Marvin Donnell “ Donnie”  Foddrell, 68, of Fieldale, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on March 12, 1951 to the late Marvin Ralph Foddrell and Mary Eloise Turner Foddrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Goldie Turner Nichols and two brothers, Burton Ray Foddrell and James Euel Foddrell. He attended Patrick County schools and was a graduate of North Stokes High School in Danbury, N.C. Donnie enjoyed fishing, loved his family, had a great sense of humor, and was the life of any event.

Donnie is survived by his fiancé, Betty Mitchell of Fieldale; a daughter, Tiffany Kaye Foddrell of Alexandria; two sons, Martin Timothy (Marion) Foddrell of Fredricksburg and Daniel Michael (Shamira) Foddrell of Beltsville, Md.; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Langston and Honor Foddrell; as well as a special granddaughter, Tamara Burgess; two aunts, Betty Jo Turner Vaughn of Adelphi, Md. and Brenda Turner Smith of Takoma Park, Md.; a special cousin, Johnny Trent Foddrell of Stuart; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service for Donnie Foddrell was held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Greater Tabernacle of Praise with Pastor Melton Roberson officiating. Burial was in Hylton Thessalonia Church Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Greater Tabernacle of Praise, c/o Melton Roberson, 252 Golf Course Road, Stuart, Va. 24171.
