Mary Alice Frye Styers

Mrs. Mary Alice Frye Styers, age 90 of Patrick Springs, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at her home. She was born in Iredell County, NC on August 1, 1932, to the late Jesse Frank Frye and Phosey Mae Caudle Frye. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Walker Styers, Sr.; one daughter, Robin Styers; two sons, Mark Anthony Styers, Rodney Styers; one brother, J.D. Frye; and one sister, Peggy Beckner.  Mrs. Styers was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to sew, do puzzles, and read but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Harold Styers, Jr. and L.J. of Patrick Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley S. Phelps and Billy of Winston-Salem, NC; five grandchildren, Allison Phelps and husband, Chris, Robin Phelps, Megan Styers and husband, Melvin, Jesse Styers and wife, Stephanie, Riley Styers; four great grandchildren, Chase Styers, Elias Styers, Everleigh King, Rawley King; one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Roger Gordon of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Ginger Frye of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Unity Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 to 7 at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Unity Missionary Baptist Church c/o L.J. Styers, 366 S. County Line Rd., Patrick Springs, VA 24133. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
