Mrs. Mary Lue Hamm Wise, age 78 of Claudville, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2019, at her home. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 13, 1940, to the late Jack Woodrow Hamm, Sr. and Mildred Virginia Heath Hamm. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wise was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Eugene Wise, Jr.  Mrs. Wise’s career as a certified nursing assistant was at Stuart Hospital, where she was known for the care she extended to her patients and drawing each newborn, she also, volunteered with CCDF and the rescue squad at Dry Pond. She retired as a school bus driver from Patrick County Public Schools, she took pride in caring for the students that rode her bus. She enjoyed art, flowers, dancing, being with her family and lived life to its fullest. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, and a loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Wise is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Sue Wise Hawks and husband, Wade of Ararat, Virginia, Thelma  Lee Wise and husband, Victor Simmons of Mount Airy, North Carolina, Jody Ann Wise South of Claudville, Virginia and Ginger Lee Wise of Claudville, Virginia; six grandchildren, Brian Lee Hawks, Taylore Leigh Childres, Jason Craig Gunnels, Joshua Lewis Wise, Adrian Millard Mitchell, Jr., and Nicole Lee Woods; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; one brother, Jack “Woody” Hamm, Jr.; two sisters, Jacqueline Pinson of Corpus Christi, Texas and Alice Bridie and husband, Greg of Corpus Christi, Texas; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Gerry Ferry of Dry Pond, Virginia; and Lucille Smith and husband, Marvin of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Funeral services for Mary Lou Wise were held Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor David Heath officiating. Burial followed in the Heath Family Cemetery. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
