Samuel Raymond “Sam” Handy, 94, of Patrick Springs, VA, died on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection. Born on January 17, 1925 to the late Rosa Martin Handy and Frank Handy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son; Samuel L Handy, one sister; Nannie Handy, three brothers; John Handy, Fred Handy, Noel Handy.
He was the owner/operator of Patrick Springs Exxon in Patrick Springs, VA. for 30 plus years. He loved his cows and working on his farm, he especially loved his faithful dog Gaby.
Sam was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He never met a stranger or refused to do a favor.
Surviving are one daughter; Teresa Handy of Raleigh, NC, and his special grandson; Brandon Handy of Patrick Springs, VA, much loved daughter- in- law; Cheryl Handy of Patrick Springs, VA , one sister; Lucille Layman of Patrick Springs, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.
