Mary Nancy Cruise, 87, of Bassett, died Sunday, May 1, 2016, at her residence.
Nancy was born in Patrick County on April 1, 1929 and was a daughter of the late Frank William Dillon and the late Mary Frances Hutchinson Dillon. She was also preceded in death by husband, Joe Henry Cruise; son-in-law, Randolph Bowden; brother; James W. Dillon; and sisters, Maggie Dillon and Lucy D. Moore.
She was a member of Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was also avid crocheter and knitter.
Surviving are sons, Bobby J. Cruise and Billy H. Cruise, both of Bassett; daughters, Sylvia C. Bowden and Diana L. Bowden, both of Bassett; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brothers, Pete Dillon and Johnny Dillon, both of Martinsville.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the chapel of Bassett Funeral Service with Pastor Tom Teems and Dr. Brian Goard officiating. Burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park.
