Mary Ellen Walker Wall of Ellsworth Court, Ridgeway, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
She was born October 15, 1936, in Stuart to the late Sparrel Lynn Walker and Lura Ethel Jefferson Walker. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tommy Lynn Wall.
She was a graduate of Stuart High School and was a member of the Martinsville Primitive Baptist Church. She had worked for DuPont, Coca Cola and owned and operated her own beauty salon. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Tommy Coleman Wall; two daughters, Deborah “Debbie” Evans (Marshal) of Conroe, Texas and Catherine “Cathy” Dayton (Mike) of Glen Alen; a sister, Rosalie Walker of Stuart; three brothers, James Edward Walker, David Lynn Walker and Thomas Jefferson Walker of Stuart; five grandchildren, Christopher, Trezlynn, Zachary, Ashley and Clay; and three great-grandchildren, Iain, Caitlin and soon to be, McKenna. The funeral service will be Friday, September 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Elder Mark Terry and Elder Carl Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
